Ancient China

Ancient China has beer recorded back as far as at least 5,000 years ago and there has been a lot of artifacts, human remains and much more which indicates that there have been people living in the China region since 2.4 million to 250,000 years ago. The Chinese were also one of the few cultures which invented their own form of writing. Their writing is the longest form of any written language system. Other countries which developed their own form of writing and alphabet are Ancient Greece, the Maya Civilization, Ancient Egypt, the Indus Valley Civilization, and Mesopotamia.

Ancient China is said to be one of the earliest areas to have human civilization living there. Their first dynasty is named Xia and was at first believed to be mythical until scientists uncovered evidence to prove otherwise. There were bronze pieces such as implements and other pieces found in urban sites were uncovered by archaeologists. The recorded history of China goes back as far as about 5,000 years and that included three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. There are archaeological finds which indicate a history as far back as the 16th century B. C..There have been turtle shells with writing on them which are said to be dated in from the Shang Dynasty and carbon dated to around 1500 B. C.. The Chinese civilization began in the Yellow River Valley and it is said they became unified around 221 B. C..It is said that year, Qin Shi Huang first united China. Other dynasties which followed developed a bureaucratic system and this enabled the Emperor of China to control the whole territory.

It is reported that there were humans in the China territory more than a million years ago. There are studies which show that stone tools were found in the Xiaochangliang area which may be dated as far back as 1.36 million years ago. The site of Xihoudu in Shanxi Province, are the earliest areas to ever use fire. There have been human remains found which may date back thousands of years and there are two pottery pieces which have been uncovered that date back to 16,500 to 19,000 years B. C..

The earliest forms of writings have been found on shells or bones of animals dating back to around the 13th century B. C.. These are the findings that show the existence of the Shang Dynasty. The Shang Dynasty is divided into 2 sets. The first set of the Shang period is from 1600 B. C. to 1300 B. C. And the second set is from 1300 B. C. To 1046 B. C..The Yin Dynasty is considered to be the last half of the Shang Dynasty.
