I have actually seen a few top-scale hotels in Beijing (Beijing Hotel,
Ritz-Carlton Beijing to name but a couple) that have attendants in their
restrooms on the ground floor. These attendants not only would hand you
freshly-cleaned towels, but would also offer to give you a massage. Here in
Hamlet's Kingdom, there are always attendants in the public restrooms, and
their function is not so much to hand you towels, but to act as a deterrent
against any attempt to turn public restrooms into meeting places for junkies
and homosexuals.
