Many will consider racism a factor.
But whether he did what did because of racism is remain to be proven.
Anyway, the act itself is criminal although one may not truly know

motivation of the crime.

My understanding: The white liberals made the statement that there is
no
black racism. They meant no black racism against white. The size of
Asian
population is relatively small until more recently.
