I do recall a comment that the movie producers couldn't find first
ranked Japanese actresses who dared take on the role(s). They weren't
confident enough that they could articulate the English words
convincingly. The Japanese actress in The Last Samurai was pretty
good in looks and in articulation. So that comment may be a cop out
against playing call girl roles too.

That said I haven't rented a movie for donkey years. I'll wait for
Geisha to come around on TV.
